Committees of the CHCS

To ensure the proper functioning of Canadian Highland Cattle Society (CHCS) and to support members of the Board, there are various working committees, namely:

Pedigree Committee:

Members: : Michelle Sulz (Chairperson), Josh Hockridge, Chad Anderson 

This committee has the responsibility to oversee the fulfillment by the Registrar of the Registrar’s obligations concerning registration of animals. It also rules on any controversy regarding the issuance of registration certificates, the identification of animals, the keeping of pedigree and breeding records as well as the transfer of registered animals. It may also intervene in contentious situations involving embryos.

Promotion Committee:

Members: Natasha Beliveau, Paul Thibodeau, Paul Slote & Shannon Wilhelm.

This committee has the responsibility to plan, organize and implement various promotional tools in collaboration with the Secretary-manager under the authority of the CHCS Board.

It works to increase the visibility of CHCS through various means such as:

  • The placement of advertisements in various external media.
  • The creation and management of the website and Facebook page.
  • The sale of CHSC promotional items.

It works to promote and increase the visibility of members through various means such as:

  • The sale of advertisements in various publications or the Internet platform of the CHSC (The Kyloe Cry, Newsletter, Website & Facebook).
  • The management of the website and the CHCS Facebook page.
  • The development of promotional tools for its members (pamphlets, promotional items, etc.).

Bylaw Committee:

Members: Jaylyn Ettinger (Chairperson), Alice Bird, & Andrea McCoy

This committee has the responsibility to review the Bylaws and propose any changes as required.
